How to Set Up MSOL Office Hours with Zoom
Terminology
- Zoom web (aka Zoom web application)
- for creating and configuring security for your meetings
- supported on major web browsers, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge
- Zoom app (aka Zoom desktop application)
- for running and recording your meetings
- supported on computing devices running Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS operating systems
- Zoom LTI
- This is embedded in Bruin Learn as "Zoom" in the course navigation menu
Step 1: Set up your office hour
- Navigate to your site in Bruin Learn
- Click "Zoom" in the course navigation menu
- If you get "Zoom LTI Pro Calendaring is requesting access to your account", click "Authorize"
- Click "Schedule a New Meeting"
- Set up your meeting settings
- Click "Save"
- If you have an existing meeting at ucla.zoom.us, you may import that meeting.
Note: Students can access your Zoom meeting by clicking "Zoom" in the course nav menu, but unofficial students may not have access if they are unaffiliated with UCLA.
Step 2: Test your office hour
- Navigate to your site in Bruin Learn
- Click "Zoom" in the course navigation menu
- Click on your office hour meeting to test
